Well it has been a while.... Several failed winter carp sessions and a 90 mile that opened our eyes later and we should be getting geared for spring fishing.
Firstly, next year's 90 mile is from Tuesday 23 March till Saturday 27 March. Make sure you have those dates pencilled in. I think we should be looking to leave at around midday on Friday the 19th. That will give us Saturday to set up camp, Sunday and Monday for recon for the Tuesday start. Hopefully we can also finish up some stingray business and maybe even fight a kingi just to set the mood before the comp starts in Earnest.
Next on the list is the Double island spring adventure. this is traditionally a two day and one night event, on a remote Coromandel island. You will have to face the fierce tides, the rough weather and rats the size of a small warthog! It is all worth it though as we landed well over a hundred fish between 2 anglers last year. The species ranged from Sharks to eels and everything in between. What we need to establish is when we are going to do this. Late September would be perfect, so please suggest some dates. I think that a early Saturday morning start should be the go with a late Sunday pickup.
Tight lines,
JAMP
